OUR LEAGUE IN ACTION

2004 was a busy year for our Leaguers!  

We held three Candidate Forums!  One in Cedaredge and two in Paonia, a Meet and Greet the Candidates in June and another Candidate Forum in July!

July 20th was our latest Candidate Forum.  Approximately 70 people attended the Commissioner forum held at the Hotchkiss Memorial Hall.  All candidates showed up, providing for not only an informative evening, but entertaining, as well.

Our June 26th Meet and Greet the Candidates was held at the Stole Shed in Cedaredge.  This free event included appetizers, punch and coffee, wine tasting and wine sold by the glass by the Surface Creek Winery.

The turnout for Cedaredge’s March 22^nd Forum was fantastic!  The all but one candidate attended and the two hours quickly passed.

 Paonia’s March 28^th Forum was also successful with almost 70 people in attendance.  As many of you know, this was a volatile year for the Paonia elections, and it was great to have our League help all sides to voice their positions.

Paonia’s March 5^th Forum for the Mosquito Control District election was interesting because we were asked on extremely short notice to pull it together.  There were a few no-shows, but all-in-all, the attendees were informative and the audience was appreciative of our League’s presentation.
